Nylon fiber was first introduced to the public at the New York Worlds Fair in 1939. The first thing nylon was used for was nylon stockings in 1940. Women liked the nylon stockings because they were as pretty as the silk stockings they had previously worn and they lasted much longer. The nylon stockings also dried much faster than silk after they were washed.

Stockings are not just an attire of the new millennium. Their history can be traced back 400 years. It was in 1589 when an English churchman named Reverend William invented the world’s first knitting machine and started making hosiery out of cotton, wool and silk. The famous designer Anne Evens says, “I enjoy the comfort, the attraction and the sensation I get when I wear them. Every now and then, I’ll wear my fishnet stockings with my dresses if I am going to party. My friends like what they see, including the men”.

Body stockings are more suitable for bodies that are toned and evenly shaped in all sizes. A body stocking will help you slip into a dress that is just slightly too small, but it won’t turn a size 12 into a size 8 so don’t expect a miracle
